The Story

Early forming bulbs that are white, tender, and perfect for fresh eating.

This early, sweet variety performs exceptionally well in high tunnels, under fabric, or in open-field production. The smooth white bulbs have a thin, supple skin, making them ideal for salads and slaws. Plants are naturally bolt resistant and produce uniform, globe-shaped bulbs with excellent flavor.

Plant Information:

  • Days to Maturity: 42 days
  • Bulb Size: 3"
  • Type: Open-Pollinated
  • Attributes: Sweet flavor, bolt resistant, early maturing

Seed Specifications:

  • 5.5–9M (average 6.5M) seeds per ounce (M = 1,000)

Growing Instructions:

  • Direct Seeding: Sow 8 seeds per foot and thin to 1 plant every 4–10", depending on variety. Space rows 12–18" apart.
  • Transplants: Space 4–10" apart in rows 12–18" apart.

All seed lots of this variety are independently tested for black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris) and black leg (Leptosphaeria maculans, anamorph Phoma lingam). Only seed lots that test negative are released for sale.
